Skimkin Lake 

More than 30 large camping sites plus 15 equine paddocks, 7 with pull-thrus, on or close to the lake. Perfect for those travelling through the area or just wanting to spend a few days trail riding.

 

 

Extensive hiking and riding trails , fire pits, picnic tables, pit toilets, and fishing. No potable water. Caretaker on site 24/7.

Low rate of $10 per night (cash or Travelers cheques only), and your horse and stall are free. Open April to October.

 

Location: 15 km West of Salmon Arm and 10 km off Hwy 1. Exit Hwy 1 at Tappen Valley Road, drive 3.8 km, turn left on Skimikin Road for 5.8 km. All paved roads. 

 

Day use and camping area along northwest shore of Skimikin Lake is located at 1536 Skimikin Road.

 

Camping area along eastern shore of Skimikin Lake located at 1660 Skimikin Road.

This is a Forest Recreation Site operated and maintained by the Shuswap Chapter of The Backcountry Horsemen Society of BC.
